As a Marketing and Communications Specialist at Horizon, you will support the Marketing and Outreach Department in achieving community engagement and marketing goals. You will help maintain Horizon's brand positioning and value propositions, ensuring consistency in all marketing materials, and assist in brainstorming and executing agency community outreach events. You will assist in generating multi-media assets to promote Horizon across various platforms, including print materials, podcasts, videos, social media, websites, and community education events. Your role will also involve project management, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and helping to create opportunities to spotlight our expertise and create partnerships. In addition, our role is providing customer service to the agency’s staff, especially the Leadership Team.

In this role, you’ll make a difference in the lives of people with substance use challenges, and often with co-occurring conditions. The exciting role is to raise the substance use disorder and mental health literacy within our communities by creating materials, agency signage, events and multi-media assets that educate people about highly stigmatized topics.

We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to all full-time and part time employees over 20 hours per week.
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000/ annually depending on experience and qualifications. Available for a full-time position.

General Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Project Management & Administrative Duties: Collaborate in systematization of recurring projects, as well as managing the organization and deadlines of others.
- Creativity and Production: Assist the team in generating polished and branded multi-media marketing assets that educate, destigmatize, and highlight the expertise of our agency.
- Event Planning: Demonstrate skills and creativity around ideation and execution of celebratory, outreach events throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Using Gantt charts or a similar project management tool, you will be responsible for setting up projects, timelines, and deliverables for the team.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and assist in providing customer service to the agency’s staff. Help in writing and distribution of press releases.
- Event Planning: Coordinate and manage outreach events, including community engagement activities.
- Graphic Design, Production & Media: Design, plan, produce, and edit branded marketing materials, presentations, videos, and other media content as needed. An understanding of the principles of effective storytelling in educational marketing.
- Podcast Production: Assist in the creation and distribution of podcast content.
- Newsletter Development: Help systematize the generation of curated content for ongoing staff and stakeholder newsletters showcasing projects, company news, and industry insights.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- A portfolio of creative work to demonstrate experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
- Proficiency in Canva graphic design software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Utilize Microsoft Workspace tools for various tasks and projects.
