The Program Driver is responsible for setting a welcoming atmosphere for all clients so they are open to continue with recovery services.  Position will perform transportation of clients, monitoring of client’s progress, assisting employees with resources in finding appropriate ongoing services for clients.

You’ll have the opportunity provide our community with substance abuse treatment to help people who are just discovering possibilities in their journey, going from a place of hopelessness to a place where they are valued and have the potential for a better life.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and observe Sobering Center client behavior and activity to ensure clients are safe, accounted for and stable.
  • Must work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Sobering Center
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all clients at all times.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and organization daily
  • Provide assistance with transportation and emergency response
  • Most appropriate on the day shift for peak client transportation.
  • Coordinate with case managers on the day shift to arrange appointments.
  • Strategically coordinate transports in "batches" due to limited driver positions.
  • Facilitate non-medical emergency transport.
  • Conduct transportation coordination with clients to ongoing resources.
  • Conduct transportation coordination with program for medication drop off and pick up at the pharmacy
  • Conduct transportation coordination with program for client medical treatment as needed
  • Conduct transportation coordination with program for psychiatric services as needed
  • Assist clients for safety while in organization vehicles and during transportation
  • Screening as needed of clients while in the organization vehicle and during transportation
  • Maintain all client records of transportation and organization vehicle Usage Logs
  • Maintain appropriate client and transportation records into the EHR as needed
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all staff members
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all current and new agencies.
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality to perform duties as scheduled
  • Attend all staff meetings and required agency meetings unless excused
  • Responsible for always maintaining a clean environment
  • Responsible for informing Program Manager of perceived vehicle repair needs, fuel for vehicle, safety, and maintenance needs of vehicle
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of medications used by clients
  • Drive the program vehicle
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Program Manager.

What else is required?
  • 0-1 years of client monitoring experience working directly with SUD populations
  • Basic academic knowledge and understanding of Substance Use
  • Must have a NM driver’s license and a good driving record in good standing
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
  • Fluency in at least one of New Mexico threshold languages (Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, and Diné (Navajo)

Salary: $12-$18 hourly based on experience and qualifications. Available for a full-time position.
