In this role, you’ll make a difference in the lives of people with substance use challenges, and often with co-occurring conditions. You’ll use and grow your skills in compassionate care, crisis intervention and de-escalation, in a supportive and inclusive work environment. You’ll have the opportunity to help people who are just discovering possibilities in their journey, going from a place of hopelessness to a place where they are valued and have the potential for a better life.

As an Detox Intake Counselor, maintain a positive welcoming client centered approach with all incoming clients. Perform daily client admissions, transfers and discharges. Provide referral services information to our clients, maintaining positive working relationships with our community providers. Develop client-centered treatment/discharge plans and work collaboratively with Licensed Clinician to determine Medical Necessity for treatment under DMC-ODS WM3.2

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Experience of evidence-based SUD and mental health practices including co-occurring disorders.
  • Certified/Registered with a Substance Use state certifying body (CAADE/CCAPP/CADTP) in California
  • Previous experience working in the behavioral health care field preferred
  • Previous experience working with Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude of Drug Medi Cal standards and Regulations
  • Must be computer literate in multi-tiered programs (Electronic Health Records) and Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience/knowledge with county agencies, and other healthcare agencies, highly desirable

Shift available:  All 3 shifts

What else is required?

  • Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record and car insurance.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certificate desirable.
  • Fingerprinting/drug testing required at time of hire.
  • Current flu vaccine/flu shot.
  • The California Department of Public Health has required that all staff in healthcare organization receive the COVID 19 vaccination by September 30, 2021. Our organization is a healthcare organization and will abide by this mandate.

Salary:  $22 - $26 based on experience and qualifications. Available for a full-time position.
